Thanks to recent gifts from Leo Pharma and Energizer, the Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation is now able to produce high quality print and television advertisements for its Go Safe awareness campaign. These will be distributed to magazines and television stations across the country publication and airing during the spring and summer of 2014.
The key to prevention is changing the public’s attitude toward safe sun habits and the use of tanning beds.Overexposure to the sun can begin in childhood and last a lifetime. This overexposure often precedes the occurrence of skin cancer by a number of years. These facts demonstrate the importance of reaching a broad audiences, including children and youth, those 18 to 30 who are most likely to use tanning beds, and parents who have control over the sun safety of their children.The message to these audiences is simple:
The Foundation is currently working with Hilliard Gordon Communications to create a national awareness campaign that will target various audiences. We are also working toward finding a national corporate partner to help implement the campaign.
