Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in Canada and around the world. Each year, thousands of Canadians hear of its diagnoses for themselves or their loved ones. While the majority of these diagnoses can be treated successfully, some, in particular advanced stages of melanoma, can be deadly.
Sharing stories of loss, or the fear of one’s first experience with the word “cancer” can help fight this disease. Others can learn and maybe, just maybe, change their behaviours to prevent a similar diagnosis for themselves or for someone they love.
