Your Dollars at Work
Over the years, the Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation has received donations from many generous individuals, corporations, foundations and government granting agencies. That support has enabled the Foundation to spreads its message of sun safety, early detection and the risks associated with the use of tanning beds.
Over the past two years the Foundation has delivered in school education program to over 6,000 children and youth in grades 5 and 6 as well as junior high and high schools in Edmonton. Over 80 volunteer health sciences students from the University of Alberta have helped deliver our message and have learned themselves about skin cancer prevention, taking that knowledge into their own careers as health professionals.
Our message has also been shared with thousands of Edmontonians through radio campaigns, on-site distribution of sun screen and sun safety information at outdoor venues across Edmonton, media and public relations campaigns and special events such as our golf tournaments and the most recent Reds, Whites and Blues event.
The Foundation is now ready to take these programs to a national audience – and it is your generosity that will enable us to do so.
